"Genealogy is old people researching other old people." Well, I'm certainly not what you'd consider old (I'm 34 yrs. old), but it was certainly something I wasn't very interested in when I was young.

Now, unfortunately, I have come to understand how important and interesting it is to learn about your past. I felt a sense of urgency when it was too late. The person I would have most enjoyed sharing this information with is no longer with me on Earth, but always in spirit. This page is dedicated to my father, Jim Schartzer, for without his memory I would have never taken upon this colossal project. I hope that through this research, my family will learn more about our ancestors and keep his spirit alive. Who knows, maybe someone else will find this information interesting, too!
